DUTIES: UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME DU LAC seeks a Staff Psychologist in Notre Dame, Indiana.
This position does not require travel. Provides individual and group therapeutic interventions to treat a
broad range of clinical issues and concerns according to the standards of care and professional codes of
the APA and NASW and Indiana state law. Provides culturally competent treatment utilizing evidence-
based treatment strategies and manages all aspects of client care. Manages complex clinical decision-
making in situations where students are in a psychological, emotional, or behavioral crises that puts them
or others at risk. Designs, implements, and evaluates psycho-educational programming for students and
the broader University community. Collaborates with other Student Affairs professionals to address mental
health issues and foster an inclusive campus climate. Conducts supervision and training for license-eligible
staff, social work fellows, and psychology interns in an APA accredited doctoral internship. Assumes
responsibility and liability for services rendered by supervisees. Contributes as a member of the UCC team
to the development and implementation of the UCC’s strategic initiatives and the subsequent development
and implementation of goals, philosophies, policies, and procedures for meeting the comprehensive
psychological needs of Notre Dame students and cultivating a culture of well-being on campus. Serves on
relevant UCC and/or University committees. Provide leadership for a specific area of service or initiative
including responsibility for the design, implementation, reporting, and evaluation of services related to this
area of oversight. Provides after-hours emergency coverage as a back-up to a professional answering
service for a period of one week approximately 3-4 times per year.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: PhD. In Counseling, Clinical Psychology (or foreign academic equivalent) or
related field from an APA accredited program. Experience must include: Experience providing individual
and group counseling; experience conducting initial and ongoing psychological assessment; experience
managing crisis situations; experience providing outreach and consultation; experience providing
supervision to psychologists-in-training; experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
experience with computer technology, i.e. electronic record keeping. Licensed or license eligible in the
State of Indiana.
